DOES GOD REALLY LOVE US?

If there is one question that I have struggled with throughout my Christian life, it must be this one. The introductory note to the Form One course book on Christian Religious Education (C.R.E) read in part "God created us to be happy." The New Life evangelistic training programme states in one of their Four Spiritual Laws, and I paraphrase, "God Loves us and offers a wonderful plan for our lives". Ellen G. White wrote in The Desire of Ages, "God desires us to be happy.." {pg 307-308}. All these I have known, but the reality of life sometimes differ from what we know or expect of God. Most of the time I've felt "not loved enough" by God, let down by Him, and/or even hated.  How then do we reconcile our nasty experiences of life with the claim of God's love? This brings us to the classical "Problem of Evil" debate. The problem of evil is a philosophical debate which explores the apparent contradiction between the character of Go...

THE WRATH TO COME

There is a wrath to come upon the world and it is nearer now more than ever. It is the wrath of God unleashed upon a wicked and repentant world, upon those who glory in their sin and gloat about their unrighteousness (See Philippians 3:19). It cannot be taken lightly. In all scripture, it is probably the sternest warning to man. John talked about it when baptizing at River Jordan in Luke 3:7 saying, "John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath ?" (NIV). Paul also talks about it in the epistle to the Romans. "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth Romans 1:18 (ESV)". Upon who is this wrath visited? It is obvious from the text above that the wrath of God is poured out against all ungodliness. That's right. All ungodliness. From the book of Philippians we get a clearer p...

THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH AND THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

This article is about the Rapture of the Church, seven reasons why it cannot possibly be correct and what the Bible really says about the end times...  End time events. We agree with each other that the world as we know will come to an end some day (or night). We also agree that Jesus will return and that the righteous people will be taken to a place called heaven. We all know that a period of great persecution and suffering, when true Christians (Those who keep the commandments of God and have the Testimony of Jesus) will not be allowed to either buy or sell, will come. We also know that a cruel tyrant also called the Antichrist or son of perdition will rule the world and demand to be worshiped (2 nd  Thessalonians 2:1-8). We also know that God will punish the unrepentant, dissident people in the last days with seven severe plagues (Revelation chapter 8 to 11). We also agree that Jesus will return with power and great glory and gather his elect from the four winds of ...

SEVEN REASONS WHY THE PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE CANNOT POSSIBLY BE TRUE

There are seven facts that present an insurmountable challenge to the doctrine of pre-tribulation rapture . In case you've never heard about the pre-tribulation rapture, it is a doctrine that teaches that Jesus Christ will come in two phases in the end times. The first of those is called the rapture of the church where Christians will be caught up in the air to meet him. The second one, it is said, is the proper second coming where He (Jesus Christ) comes to establish his reign on earth for a thousand years. It is a very popular doctrine, we must admit, not least because of the amount of publicity it has been accorded by the "Left Behind" movie series and books by Hal Lindsey and Tim Lahoya, and the push by practically all popular televangelist like Chuck Smith, John Hagge, Hall Lindsey, John Curson, Dave Hunt and the like. I used to believe this doctrine myself until I begun to question its origin, coherency with the Bible and secret motives. In this article we have comp...

SEVEN TRUTHS ABOUT TEMPTATION ANY CHRISTIAN SHOULD KNOW

Seven things everyone should know about temptations 1.          We are all tempted. Many a times we are led to believe that we are tempted just a little bit more, or differently than other people and therefore we take this as an excuse to sin. The truth is: we aren’t. We all face the same battles every day.   I’ve never met a Christian who was never tempted. I’m yet to meet anyone who never sinned. We are all tempted to sin in many ways and occasionally, even though we don’t like it, we sometimes fall into sin. Everyone who ever lived was tempted, even Jesus Christ (Mathew 4:1, Mark 1:13, Luke 4:2). Jesus was tempted to sin just like we are but he never sinned (Hebrews 4:15) 2.         You can overcome. Most of the time the enemy tempts us, he wants us to believe that we cannot overcome, that we can only delay the sin but eventually fall. That’s a lie. We really do not have to sin every time we are tempted. Jesus said tha...
